Busy Being Fabulous

All weekend I was on the go!  I'm in two weddings in May and co-coordinating a bridal shower.  I was responsible for making invitations and delegating who was gonna do what.  And my bestfriend needed a sitter so I helped.  In the midst of it all I had to find the time to wash and style my girl's hair, but first I had to buy the RIGHT products to guide me along this venture.  I was looking for an S.O.S.; MOM in over her head!  Help!!!  In addition to all of that, where I am the weather is gonna be delightfully warm this week so I wanted my FAB 5 Hunny Bunches to reflect the sunny and bright atmosphere with fun and colorful clothes.  For the girls I found leggings at H&M and for the boys a couple of t-shirts from JCPenney.

I never ever shopped in JCPenney, but I'm glad that I couldn't find a parking space close to my beloved Nordstrom and that they were having a sale.  If these turn of events would have never taken place, I would have spent a lot more than I honestly would have needed to.

(these are the bridal shower invitations from http://target.com/; i got them for about 4 bucks for 10 invites. aren't they pretty)

( I learned about this technique called banding which stretches the hair to give it length before styling from http://beadsbraidsbeyond.blogspot.com/)

At the end of the day I did almost got everything accomplished.  My persistent and perfectionist personality wanted to ignore my weak and drained mind, body and soul, but it lost.  I only was able to complete Baby B's hair.  Baby A's hair is still braided and it still looks really good for being in 3 weeks.  But my anxiety is taking over.  I am so ready for a new look and to inplement a new haircare regimen.

T.G.F. Rihanna, Shout, Hoover and Bleach

If it wasn't for Rihanna, I would have entered the week in real funk!  The week before was way hectic.  Every morning last week there was something.   I couldn't wake up on time, or couldn't get the girls hair right.  There were loads of laundry to be washed and I was tempted to throw my son in a pair of his sisters OLD NAVY skinny jeans.

That was obviously my breaking point.  I took a time out, ate something for breakfast for once and then just like magic a pair of BOYS CRAZY 8 jeans popped up.

I came home from taking the kids to school and got to work, but if it wasn't for Rihanna, IDK if getting my house in order would have happened then.

Thank God For Rihanna, Shout, Hoover and Bleach.

What do you thank God for?

PRETTY GIRL ROCK - Crimp and Curl

Circa 1987

I was 7 years old here.  This is my 2nd grade picture.  I remember this day so clearly.  I was feeling so beautiful that day.  Back then it was too grown to wear your hair down/out when you were that young.  But Picture Day was an exception.

Natural hair won't scare me! (John 2:20..Faith without works is dead)

Hello everyone!  I am Shannon cofounder of Blusher Ink and mommy of BLUSHER Kids.  Like most parents, I am mostly busy and always tired with more responsibilities than time.  I am a mom of 5 children.  12, 6  and 4 are their ages.  The oldest are boys and the 4's are my triplet girls.

I commit myself to shampooing, conditioning and styling the girls hair on a weekly basis.  Yes, it is exhausting.  They all have a good length of hair and it's pretty thick.  I wish that I could take them to the salon like my mom did when I was a kid, but that cost is not in my family's budget.  So, i took matters into my own hands.

I have no professional training, but I do believe that as long as I am *faithful* and *dilligent* that I CAN do just as good a job that a professional stylist would do.

So I invite you all to journey with me as I travel down a road that a lot of moms are afraid of.  We may experience bumps, knots, split ends and headaches, but at the end I believe that our reward will be worth the walk.
